Press Release

System unveiled
Released Oct. 3rd, 1996 - Kirkland Washington, USA.

The first comprehensive Windows 95/NT Point of Sale (POS) system designed specifically for the floral industry.

According to Cyrus Nima, founder and president of Kirkland, Washington based MicroCode Corporation, the landscape of the Florist System Technology is about to change drastically, and with the introduction of the Visual Ticket order entry system, the industry's level of expectations, both in "Features", as well as the "User Interface", will now be raised to a whole new level.

The Visual Ticket system is a brand new addition to company's Micro Florist tm product line, that has been designed specifically for the Windows 95/NT platforms, with full Graphical User Interface (GUI), Multi-user, Multi-media, and Multi-threading capabilities, that is embedded in this emerging new environment.

Although, the Windows-95 operating system has been around for more than a year, native Windows 95/NT Point of Sale systems, have been under extensive development, and beta testing during this period. The Visual Ticket is the first system of it's kind to provide Floral Order Entry with full color pictures, animation / video, and sound capabilities, in the "point and shoot", Multi-user environment of Windows 95/NT.

As far as the Multi-media capabilities of the Visual Ticket is concerned, "sky is the limit" says Nima. You can point and click to add (or view) full color pictures of inventory items, arrangements awaiting production, customers, or employees. Another click and you can add instructional or training video clips to specific orders. You can also record Customer's own greetings, or have the Order Entry Operator, add verbal production instructions for the Designer, on a specific order. Caller-Id and UPC Barcode features are also available.

One of the features unique to the Visual Ticket system is it's implementation of "VT Agents". These hardworking Agents, run in separate "threads" (in the background), and perform tasks that would otherwise require the Operator to spend a lot of time to complete. VT Agents automatically; review / update order status, process orders, clear credit cards, send and receive Mercury orders, print enclosure cards, work tickets, and delivery tickets, assign florists to wire-out orders, and communicate with the Internet.

Visual Ticket order entry system is based on Microsoft's award winning Visual FoxPro 5.0 Relational Database system, and provides both local as well as remote data access. The system provides complete graphical, context sensitive Help system, and the Internet implementation is provided through Active-X technology.
